Specialist automotive engineering, design and recruitment firm Contechs is celebrating a successful evening at the 2017 Coventry Telegraph Business awards, which took place on the 16th November at the Ricoh Arena.
Peter Jarvis, the company’s Managing Director, was presented with the well-regarded “Business Entrepreneur of the Year” award, much to the company’s delight.
The award was sponsored by Allied Irish Bank, and their Corporate Business Manager, Paul O’Reilly, was quick to send his congratulations to Contechs, saying: “Great night at the Coventry Telegraph Awards… congratulations to Pete Jarvis of Contechs for winning our sponsored category”.
Contechs was also nominated in two other categories, reaching the finalist stage for “Company of the Year” and “Contribution to the Community”.
Pete said: “I am honoured that we were able to reach the finalist stage of “Company of the Year” and “Contribution to the Community”, and humbled to have won the individual award. This success is a testament to the company as a whole; Contechs has become a fast growing, well-oiled machine, meaning I am able to focus on its continual improvement and the key areas that support our business growth.”
Since being at the helm, Peter has led Contechs to grow significantly. In 2014 the company hit a record turnover of £37 million, and the business has continued to flourish, on track for its best year ever with a £65 million predicted turnover by the end of 2017.
In his 11th year as Managing Director, Peter has played a key role in seeing the company go from strength to strength, and this success has been recognised several times over the years, with multiple award nominations. This time last year Peter was recognised as “Businessman of the Year”, with the company receiving the “Manufacturer of the Year” accolade at the Midlands Business Awards.
2017 has been a particularly successful year for Contechs; the firm was also listed in the Sunday Times’ Top 200 Companies list, which Peter attributed to the “fantastic, talented and hard-working employees of Contechs, both in the UK and overseas”.
