As part of planned major growth in Europe, engineering, design and recruitment company Contechs has announced the opening of a second office in Germany.

With two sites in the UK, in Warwick and Basildon, the company has generated many new employment opportunities when it opened its new facility in Munich.

With a workforce made up of German/Italian nationals, who have many years’ experience working within the automotive design industry, the new location will house design engineering teams completing projects for Contechs’ prestigious OEM clients.

The Munich office will be located on Leopoldstrasse, placing it in an ideal situation for working with blue chip automotive OEMs. This facility will complement the company’s existing site in Cologne, whose 75 strong staff focus on design engineering and recruitment.

As part of its expansion plans in Germany, Contechs is looking to boost business growth with this new strategic investment, in addition to setting ambitious targets for developing its number and range of clients.

Peter Jarvis, Managing Director of Contechs, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for Contechs which has enjoyed another fantastic year of impressive growth.

This latest investment will allow the company to increase its presence in Germany and enable us to work with a number of leading German and Italian OEMs. We are also looking to grow our customer base and also expand our service proposition.

The second base will also provide us with an excellent platform for growth and represents our long term commitment to the region and this thriving sector.”

Along with the announcement of the new German office come details of the creation of 85 new jobs at its Warwick facility as part of increased investment in the UK market.

This additional investment will also include the creation of a new 10,000 sq ft facility at the Warwick site as part of the expansion plans. The new building has been made necessary due to Contechs securing multiple new contracts with prestigious OEMs, and will accommodate additional trimming work.

The total site size will grow to 65,000 sq ft and the new section will include a modern canteen and reception area.

Since its establishment in 1997, Contechs has grown to become one of the leading specialists in the UK in design and engineering, trim-manufacture, materials handling and specialist recruitment.

The company currently employs over 1,000 staff, with projected turnover for 2016 of £50 million and with an expected turnover of £65 million for 2017. The company has four locations: Warwick and Basildon in the UK; Cologne and Munich in Germany.
