The facility now comprises of 30,000 square feet, deploying a flexible manufacturing production system (TPS) for all its manufacturing services. The further ramp up of resources will be complete by the end of 2007, totaling circa 85 heads. Peter Jarvis, Managing Director, described the continued expansion as "a very exciting development for Contechs, that demonstrates how Contechs is forging its way forward in new emerging markets. Our successes are very much underpinned by traditional automotive skills that are applied to new product areas".

Contechs have implemented the quality and delivery disciplines common in the automotive sector to the newly won marine & rail contracts. With Phase.2 fully operation by the end of this year, it is able to offer exciting long term employment terms to the local community. There is also a further expansion plan (phase.3) scheduled for the middle of 2008. More news will be provided nearer the time. |
