Position: Hybrid Modeller

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
To act as primary developer of our in-house hybrid modelling tool. The Hybrid CAE team has an Excel-based modelling tool which is heavily relied upon to produce predictions relating to fuel economy and performance for all hybrid programs, both current and speculative. That tool needs to be owned, maintained and developed by a skilled modelling engineer, who has the ability to meticulously ensure that the model is representative, validated, documented, and is populated with current best data. The individual will need to constantly compare the tool's capability and accuracy with other modelling tools used within JLR to ensure compatibility with current best practise. The individual will be responsible for upgrading the tool as and when changes are made to the hybrid system, its control system, and when entirely new hybrid technologies are investigated by JLR.
Skills Required:
Outstanding skills in Microsoft Excel and VBA. Outstanding grasp of fundamental laws of physics, mechanics and electric machines. Accomplished Matlab/Simulink user. Experience at modelling full vehicle behaviour for the prediction of PED metrics. Excellent documentation skills. Rigorous approach to continuously maintaining model accuracy and quality.
