After increasing investment in its Warwick facility by nearly one hundred percent, leading engineering design and recruitment company Contechs has announced a further round of new jobs which are to be created at that site.
In April 2016, Contechs announced that 50 new jobs were to be created and the company will now be adding another 35 jobs to increase the total number of positions created to 85 for the year. The company had seen outstanding growth during the previous year and has increased its investment in the business from £350,000 to £650,000.
After winning multiple contracts with Blue Chip OEMs, the firm will now build a new 10,000 sq ft facility, taking the total site area to 65,000 sq ft. The new building will create space for the increased amount of trimming work and will incorporate a brand new canteen and reception area.
Over the past 18 months the workforce at the Warwick location has increased more than twofold, with the current staffing level sitting at above 400.
As Managing Director of Contechs, Peter Jarvis said he expects to see the firm continue to grow and bring in more new opportunities and was especially pleased to announce the exciting news about the new positions.
He continued: “This has been an incredible year for Contechs which has seen all elements of the business expand with design engineering. These 35 new jobs come on top of the 50 positions we announced in April and are a result of some really impressive contract wins with some major OEMs.”
Jarvis also commented that new model year programmes from OEMs are currently very popular and this demand is leading to an increase in contracts for the supplier sector, which is reliable, steady growth. Due to this, he predicted that further expansion of the business and the team was likely, making it a very exciting time for the business and also for jobseekers in the automotive sector.
Since its establishment in 1997, Contechs has grown to become one of the leading specialists in the UK in design and engineering, trim-manufacture, materials handling and specialist recruitment.
The company currently employs over 1,000 staff, with projected turnover for 2016 of £50 million and with an expected turnover of £65 million for 2017. In addition to sites in Warwick, Basildon and Cologne, Germany, the company has plans to open a second office in Munich, Germany in the near future.
